Debate Club

By Leo Koppel and Richard Ye - 2009/11/06 Edition

"An argument is a connected series of statements designed to establish a proposition."

Thus Monty Python famously summed up the foundation of debate. Debate Club is a group at Bell dedicated to argument - from pressing social issues to amusing, trivial themes - without resorting to fisticuffs (or thoughtless contradiction)! Join us in learning about Canadian Parliamentary debate format, public speaking, and discussing the issues of the day. Everyone is welcome to come - no experience needed.

We usually attend two fun debate tournaments at Carleton University yearly.

Debate Club meets on Fridays in room 103 and can be reached at debate@bellhs.net.
