Thoughts of an Aide...

This year, I knew I wanted to be involved in our school’s MUN. However, since I was not familiar with the procedural aspect of an MUN conference, I felt as though I would not be able to contribute much to the discussion. Luckily, I was presented with the opportunity to be involved, though in a less direct manner. I helped out at the Bell High School MUN Conference as an aide, passing notes between countries and typing up proposed resolutions and amendments on the front projector.

Being an aide at my first MUN conference was definitely a worthwhile experience. I became comfortable with the protocol of a conference, learned more about pressing world issues while hearing others’ many ideas for solution, and was soon caught in the excitement of the delegates. Now, having participated in an MUN conference, I will surely consider representing a country at future conferences. I definitely encourage anyone interested in participating in Bell’s MUN to do so. Don’t hesitate! :D
