Melissa: How has being a part of a Bruin sports team, in this case Soccer, helped in your personal growth, and how would you describe your overall experience looking back upon your 4 years?

Adam: My experiences have taught me situational coping skills, appropriate time-management and organizational skills, as well as given me the opportunity to meet new people. Bell Athletics have provided me with essential life skills I will carry with me throughout my life. I would like to thank all of my dedicated and supportive coaches for their fostering of my personal growth.

Athletics provide the opportunity to develop on both an athletic and an individual level. Bell high school’s many caring coaches contribute to a supporting environment, where learning is encouraged and fun is mandatory. Athletics, in general, contribute to the maintenance of a healthy active lifestyle, and offer fundamental development in the way of appropriate coping mechanisms, inter-personal relationships, and provide a foundation for the future. Sports provide athletes with co-operation skills, fair play, leadership, and maturity in moral and ethical viewpoints. With each issue a student athlete, demonstrating personal development as a result of participation in Bell Athletics will be featured, with prior approval. Thank you to Adam Thomson, student-athlete, and this issue’s athlete development interviewee.
