Let’s face it: November was a bit hectic. There was a lot happening; a lot of good and a bit of unease. That being said, we shouldn’t let anything overshadow all of the great things we have going on here at Bell High School.

However, before I forget, let me introduce myself. I’m Zeina Nasrallah, co-president here at your school. My partner in crime, Arthur Burrows, was busy doing an amazing job in Hot Mikado, along with the rest of the cast.

Let’s rewind a bit. We had, as Arthur calls it, “Jock and Jill Day”, also known as Sports Day. Simple, but successful.

Famine! Thank you to everyone who showed up and was willing to give up eating poutine. With that, Halloween for Hunger was an awesome way of kicking off the food drive, and we did really well.

Let’s pause. We’re all getting ready for our stress levels to get higher now that summatives and exams are right around the corner. You go on your Holiday break… then life as you know it is over the minute you get back and you are overloaded with all sorts of class related things. Hopefully, you can find time to come and watch our Holiday Assembly/Coffee house, the last day before the break. Also, GRADS. Hopefully you guys have your write-ups all written up and sent. Just remember, it’s going in the yearbook, a thousand people will be reading it, and it’s permanent, so make it worth while.

Now, let’s fast-forward. After exams, we have our weekend-long leadership camp here on campus. I’ll be honest, before this year, I was never really school spirited and into leadership camp. Then Mr. Whitehead and Mr. Hemstreet decided to send me to the board-wide leadership camp back in October and I had the of my life. I cannot stress enough on how incredible interacting with others is. This is your chance to experience something great, so don’t miss out on the opportunity.

Also, Arthur and I would love to see some more new faces on Student’s Council. Drop by Wednesdays at lunch in Mr Risk’s room; we’re always open.

Have a great Holiday Break, and good luck with all the summatives and exams.

And in the words of Abdi Omer: “We are not the same… I am a Bruin.”

See you soon,
Zeina
